BUDDHA

BIRTH OF THE BUDDHA (Part_1) ~~~~
Once a long time back, there was a kingdom in North India, which played a key part in changing the world’s philosophy.

King Shuddhodana ruled the kingdom. Once, his wife, Queen Maya, had an amazing dream. She could see the sky clothed in a bright white light and through the rays a big elephant was formed of light. The elephant drew nearer to the queen from the sky and at last fused into her body. The dream brought a sense of happiness to the queen and she awoke with a joy in her heart.

She then rushed to tell the king him to the amazing dream. The wise men of the court told them that the dream meant that the queen would bear a son who would become a great man one day; the whole world would be benefited by the special child.

The news of the incredible child brought great happiness to the Royal couple. The king had always desired a son to succeed him, so he was all the more happy.

The queen, as was the custom, got ready to go to her parent’s house to give birth to her child. The queen and her attendants began their journey to the home of her childhood. After travelling for a while, the queen became tired and rested. She realized that the baby would soon be ready to come into the world.

So they went to the gardens of Lumbini and found a comfortable place and gave birth to the special child. The attendants took care of the baby and were filled with a sense of amazement at the child’s beauty.
